Beneath the Trade explores what happens underneath our decisions in the market: the psychology, emotion, identity, expectations, and patterns we bring with us to the chart.
A podcast with Maria Fuller

The idea
You can understand market structure. You can know your setup. You can have a trading plan sitting beside you and still find yourself doing something completely different when money, uncertainty, fear, hope, expectation, and identity enter the room.
Beneath the Trade is a conversation about that part.

What lives beneath the trade
Sometimes the most important thing to examine isn't what happened on the chart. It's what was happening in you.

Maria Fuller is a trader, educator, creator, and longtime student of human behavior. Long before she entered the markets, her work centered around the ways identity, belief, behavior, and environment shape how people see themselves and the choices they make.
Her career has moved through seemingly different worlds, from critical care medicine to entrepreneurship, media, education, mentoring, and now trading, but curiosity about human behavior has remained a constant thread. She has spent more than 15 years creating educational programs, mentoring women, producing media, and developing conversations designed to help people question the beliefs and patterns operating beneath the surface.
Maria previously founded Raising a Powerful Girl, an education platform centered on identity, leadership, and empowerment, and created and hosted its internationally ranked podcast. Her work has been featured across national media, and her background spans health science, women’s studies, behavioral science, and leadership.
Fear. Attachment. Self-worth. Expectations. Control. Our relationship with success and failure. The distance between what we know and what we actually do when uncertainty becomes real.
She doesn’t approach these conversations as someone who has mastered all of it. She approaches them as a trader living inside the questions herself, drawing from behavioral finance, reflective inquiry, years of work around human behavior, and the experiences of traders navigating the same uncomfortable space between knowing and doing.
This isn’t about becoming emotionless. It’s about becoming more aware of what you’re bringing with you when you sit down at the chart.
